In the beginning

This is where it all started. Jess and I decided that we had become sick of moving all the time and somehow we came up with living on a boat.

And so began hours of trawling through Apollo duck, Fikkers, Bowcrest Marine and so on........

The plan was to moor somewhere in the Lincs area located within commuting distance of Jess' job. For a boat of size we wanted (roughly the size of a 2 bed flat) only the Trent was big enough. Either that or we would have to move elsewhere (back to York would of been nice).
Luckily we found amazing moorings in Nottinghamshire on the Trent, we were now ready to look seriously.

The boat called Chalo was the first we looked at 'seriously' and if you listen to any body's advise you should never buy the first boat you see. We looked at a couple of other barges including plenty of Humber keels an amazing Klipper Aak in Rotterdam. In the end we kept coming back to Chalo and made an offer what followed was a very long story.........
